Why Rain Accessories Matter

Do you remember those raincoats from your childhood days, when we used to wear raincoats to school that looked like a tent, remember those ‘sad coats’?. Even today, most brands are designing similar boxed-shaped urban raincoats or purely performance wear which has a very functional style. But thanks to brands that design modern rainwear and rain accessories these raincoats are a thing of the past! Waterproof bags, rain hats, waterproof ponchos, long coats and skirts are all contemporary options that we have today.

As an umbrella can’t protect you during heavy rain or while riding a bike, you need something that provides more coverage. Introducing good rainwear and rain accessories! They are lightweight, easy to carry and designed to fit comfortably, as well as giving you contemporary fashion. With the right accessories, you can stay protected in style.

Rain Skirts - The Most Underrated Rain Accessory

When it’s raining heavily, a skirt can be a practical option. Rain skirts are also a highly stylish and ‘state of the art’ option in the rain accessories category. BYBROWN’s skirt is a waterproof wrap around design making it very easy to put on and take off. It is a hassle free option compared to rain trousers and is designed to be worn over your everyday clothing. Your lower body stays protected from rain and wind. The skirts are light, packable and easy to wear and come in a variety of colours. The versatility of this product makes it a hit among users. The skirt isn’t just for rainy days, from a fashion point of view, it’s on point and can be worn….

  • While going on a hike

  • For cycling

  • On outdoor walks

  • On casual city walks

The skirt can be folded into its own pocket and packs up into a small package that can easily fit into your bag.

Waterproof Bags and Backpacks

Your bag is very important, holding everything including your laptop, documents, phone and personal items. If these items get soaked in the rain it is a call for disaster. Waterproof bags and backpacks are designed to look like normal bags but they keep your items safe from water. The waterproof material used to make these bags repels water droplets.

Rain Hats and Caps

Umbrellas are in every household, but they are not always convenient. On windy days they are very impractical, they are difficult to hold, turn inside out very easily as well as being very bad for the environment. On the other hand a good waterproof hat is so much more stylish, keeps your head and face dry and your hands completely free.

Rain hats today come in stylish designs. They are made from waterproof materials that dry quickly. They maintain their shape even after getting wet. Most designs look like regular hats, so you can  wear them as a sun hat as well.

Stylish Ponchos and Rain Caps

Ponchos are always loved in the world of fashion. Today's rain ponchos are often made from high-quality waterproof materials. The designs have a beautiful silhouette are beautiful colours. They effectively cover your upper body and can be worn over any outfit. They can even cover a backpack, which makes them an ideal choice for bikers. They are light and easy to fold.

Women's Cycling Raincoat: Essential for Wet and Windy Days

Women's Cycling Raincoat: Essential for Wet and Windy Days

Wearing a raincoat whilst cycling is very different from wearing one whilst walking. During long cycle rides, you can start feeling hot after a while due to the physical exercise. There can be a build up of humidity inside the raincoat that makes you feel sweaty. This sweat makes you feel overheated and you get wet from the inside which is very uncomfortable. Thus, you need rainwear that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable during cycle riding. The best raincoats for cycling have some special features like breathability and flexibility. So when you are choosing one for your daily commute, here are the things you should keep in mind:

What Is a Good Rain Jacket for Cycling?

A good bicycle raincoat keeps you dry from head to toe. It is made using a breathable fabric that lets vapour and sweat escape. When you move your body, it moves with you without causing any stretching or discomfort. Most of us think that such raincoats do not exist. However, BYBROWN has considered all these points and designs raincoats that are made for the wearers’ complete comfort.

Breathability matters and is achieved through using a 3-layered membrane material. Good rain jackets for cycling, bond a waterproof membrane directly to the outer shell with a third layer encasing the membrane between the shell and the inner fabric. Thus, there is no clustering or delamination over time. Regular raincoats have a separate lamination that splits or tears over time. This lamination causes moisture trapping and over heating. Cheap jackets aren’t at all breathable leading to the wearers getting sweaty and uncomfortable.

Another thing to consider is the DWR coating. The DWR or Durable Water Repellent coating is applied to the surface of the coat to let water drops roll off. With time, it degrades and recoating is required. Good quality raincoats retain their DWR coating for longer.

Fit matters just as much as fabric. A women's bicycle raincoat should sit close to the body. This lets the rider pedal comfortably. Good raincoats for cycle riding have details like stretchable elbows, panels under the arms and a hem that stays in place. So the wearer can move their legs and lean forward on the bike without any restriction. The cut of regular fashion raincoats is not suitable for wearing whilst cycling.

Rain trousers are popular when it comes to cycling. They keep you dry but they are cumbersome and difficult to put on over your shoes. BYBROWN has designed the Moxie Rain Skirt, an alternative to rain trousers. The Moxie is a waterproof skirt that is engineered for urban cycling. This packable rainwear unzips down the middle and snap around the legs, transforming into trousers that keep your legs dry and protected on any bicycle. The wrap around skirt has an adjustable waist, secured with technical velcro.

Important Features of a Good Cycling Rain Jacket

Waterproof rating - Look for the water column rating in the specifications. Don’t settle for anything less than ten thousand millimetres, which gives a good level of waterproofness.
Breathability - Good breathability prevents overheating from the inside. Again, it should be above ten thousand.

Sealed seams - Fully taped seams prevent water from getting inside. It gets through the stitching at the shoulders and underarms. Thus, look for sealed seams.
Drop tail hem - A longer rear hem covers your lower back and stops road spray from your tyres reaching your clothes.

Reflective detailing - It is an essential feature for commuters. Reflective strips on the shoulders, back and cuffs make you more visible during heavy rain and low light.
Packability - Look for a jacket that folds into a small bag or its own pocket. They can carry it easily and wear it when required.

The fit – Women’s raincoat for cycling should fit better for comfort wear. This makes a big difference during the movement.

Choosing the Best Raincoats for Cycling

BYBROWN recommends that commuters and e-bike riders should look for a full coverage raincoat and a waterproof skirt. Considering these requirements, they design unique rainwear for bicycle riders that gives freedom of movement, is lightweight and fits in a small bag. Also, there are reflective details for enhanced safety during heavy rain.

FAQs

1.Can you cycle with a long coat?

It depends on the coat and how long the zip is. Choose a women's bicycle raincoat designed with a long zip.

2.What is the ideal coat for cycling?

A waterproof, breathable raincoat with a women's-specific cut, sealed seams and reflective detailing is perfect for cycling. Also, look for packability. Rain skirts are also ideal for keeping your legs dry.

3.How do I know if a raincoat breathes?

Check the breathability rating; it should be above 10,000 gm/m2/24hrs. BYBROWN designs breathable raincoats and mentions the figures in the specifications.

4.Is a hood practical for cycling?

A standard hood is too small to fit over a cycling helmet and blocks the view. Look for jackets with a helmet-over-hood design.

Which Long Raincoat Works for You Going from Day to Night in the Ever-Changing Weather?

Which Long Raincoat Works for You Going from Day to Night in the Ever-Changing Weather?

The weather rarely follows a schedule. Sometimes a clear sky in the morning becomes dark clouds by the afternoon. It happens to many of us; we step out without rain protection and get caught in a downpour. A few reasons why people avoid carrying their raincoats are that they are too heavy or they don’t fit in their small bag. A perfect long raincoat is one that keeps you covered and has a practical design. It must protect you from head to toe. It must hold its shape and look good with your regular clothes. It may seem impossible, but it is certainly possible with well-designed raincoats.

Here, we will talk about brands that design women's long raincoats. These have practical designs and many unique features.

What do the Different Names for Long Raincoats mean?

As the name suggests, long raincoats are designed to give complete coverage in the rain. These are designed for daily commuters; those who either walk or ride a bike to work. Women's raincoats are known by different names, which can often confuse buyers. Here are a few common names for women’s long raincoats:

  • Mac or Mackintosh – A Mac raincoat is designed using a waterproof rubber fabric. This fabric is highly waterproof and can keep you dry in the heaviest rainfall. Also, these are long-lasting and come in classic designs.
  • Trench coat – This one has a belted, with a double-breasted design. These were originally designed for military use in wet conditions. These are not fully waterproof but can provide basic protection.
  • Duster coat – A duster coat is made from a lightweight fabric. Its orginal function is to protect clothing from dust. The contemporary versions, made from a waterproof or water-resistant fabric, can be used as a raincoat.

So, you can find various long coats for women in the market with different names. However, the perfect women's long waterproof raincoat is simply a full-length or knee-length coat specifically made from a waterproof fabric. Features like sealed seams and an adjustable hood make the design even more functional.

Good Features of BYBROWN’s Long Raincoats

Do all raincoats perform equally well? The answer is – no, their performance depends on certain features. Most raincoats in the market are sold with a "waterproof" label. How they perform in real conditions depends on many factors.

Waterproof rating

High water column ratings means better protection. Compare the designs available by their ratings. The higher the water column number the better the results.

Seam construction

Seams are the weak point for letting in water droplets. The stitching creates holes in the fabric and although they are tiny, these holes are big enough to let water droplets in. The seams should be sealed properly for complete protection. So, always check if the seams are fully taped.

Breathability

Raincoat fabrics are generally made tough. It helps them keep the rain out. But very thick fabrics can raise the body heat and make you feel suffocated. When wearing your coat for a while there can be a build up of humidity inside the raincoat that makes you feel sweaty. A breathable fabric has small pores that let moisture out. This feature is called breathability. BYBROWN offers breathable raincoats made using a fabric that can keep you dry from the inside, while blocking external water.

Length

The length of the raincoat depends on the usage. If you want a raincoat that gives complete protection, go for a mid-thigh to knee-length coat. It keeps you dry while cycling or walking. It lets you move comfortably. Full-length options are ideal for heavy rain and wind. A BYBROWN option is the Spirit Raincoat or the Spirit Light.

Hood design

Most raincoat designs include a hood. A normal hood can keep opening when it's windy or you are riding a bike and hinder your peripheral vision. That is why you should beable to adjust your hood with cords and technical velcro so that it fits well and stays in place to give you 100% vision. BYBROWN’s hoods are extra big so that many bike helmets can fit underneath. All these features make hoods more practical and safe.

Packability

Carrying raincoats becomes an issue, especially when it gets wet. If they take a lot of space or are heavy, it is not practical to carry them with you. Designed, packable raincoats are travel-friendly. These can be easily carried along for unpredictable weather days. Some raincoats can compress into their own pocket or a small bag, such as BYBROWN’s Agile Poncho and Moxie Skirt.

Pockets

Waterproofed zip pockets keep your phone and keys dry. Avoid coats with open patch pockets as they collect water.

Style and shape

A well-designed women's raincoat is the one that has a defined, designed shape. It shouldn’t look like emergency rainwear.

Popular Brands and Models:

  1. BYBROWN – High-performance urban raincoats with attention to design as well as function. High waterproof ratings and clean silhouettes and breathability.
  2. Stutterheim – classic rubberized raincoats with minimal designs. A heavier alternative for heavy rain.
  3. Rains – matte-finish, waterproof, urban coats at a mid-range price.
  4. Mackintosh – Rubberized raincoats of a premium quality and design.

FAQs

1. How to wash a long raincoat after multiple uses?

Your women's long waterproof raincoat may need washing after a season. If it gets mud or make-up stains it can be spot cleaned. It can also be machine-washed at 30ºC using a gentle cycle. Put a small amount of detergent for delicate fabrics and don’t use any softener; these can crack the DWR coating. Follow the care instructions written on the packaging.

2. Is machine-drying a long raincoat safe?

Yes, you can machine-wash at 30ºC using a gentle cycle. Put a small amount of detergent for delicate fabrics and don’t use any softener. You can dry your raincoat in the tumble dry on a low heat setting. Raincoats made from rubber or wax can’t be machine washed as the heat damages them. Always check the care label.

3. What if the waterproofing of my raincoat reduces?

This would indicate that the DWR coating on your women's raincoat has worn down. This is natural after a year or more of use. Re-waterproofing can help retain its’ condition. It can be done once or twice a year.

4. What should I look for when buying a long raincoat?

Check the following:

  • Waterproof rating
  • Seam type
  • Breathability rating

Women's Waterproof Raincoats: Choosing the Right Fit, Fabric, and Function

Women's Waterproof Raincoats: Choosing the Right Fit, Fabric, and Function

Unexpected rain can ruin your outfit and kill your mood. To avoid this situation you need a functional raincoat that will keep you dry and stylish. Your style is very important, and you don’t want to compromise your appearance; it is one of your direct forms of expression to the outside world.

How about investing in a stylish women’s waterproof raincoat for yourself?

Yes, you heard it right. Stylish women's raincoats are available these days, both functional and fashionable.
Today's women's raincoats have evolved, luckily. They don’t look bulky and boxy and come in a range of styles.
However, before you buy one, go through this brief guide to help you make the right choice; it’s an investment that you want to make wisely.

Understanding What Makes a Raincoat Truly Waterproof

Often, people realise that their raincoats are water-resistant but not fully waterproof. This means they can only protect you from light showers. When it starts raining heavily, they don’t stand up to the test. You then arrive at your destination feeling wet, cold and uncomfortable.
Our BYBROWN waterproof raincoats are made from material that doesn’t allow water in but does let sweat vapour out. Yes, while blocking water from the outside, it allows sweat to escape! The seams also play an important role as our raincoats’ seams are properly sealed with thermal bonded taping which gives complete protection.

The Fabric Technologies That Keep You Dry:

  • 3-layered high quality membraned fabric offers breathability as well as waterproofness.
  • Thermal Bonded Sealing Tape on all the seams for waterproofness.
  • A well fitted, adjustable hood offers protection and peripheral vision.
  • Waterproof, 2-way zips offer a secure closing.
  • Big, waterproof pockets
  • E Vents : These small holes under the armpit allows vapour escape for high-activity situations.

Performance features to look for

Waterproofing is the most important feature of a raincoat; however, some specific features can improve its performance in real-life conditions:

  • A hooded women's raincoat  is something that you can rely on when rain arrives unexpectedly. Look for a well fitted, adjustable hood that offers protection and peripheral vision.

  • Pockets in your raincoat come to the rescue when you are carrying your belongings. A mobile phone and home keys are something we always carry when we step out. Make sure the pockets have flaps or zippers for closure.

  • For ventilation, some raincoat designs have special features. Some have zippers under the arms while others have a back vent. Such details allow heat and moisture to escape. If you perform sport activities in the rain, you need these features in your coat to let moisture escape.

Versatility for Daily Wear Rain Protection

BYBROWN is a women’s raincoat brand that lets you choose your raincoat online and offers designs in many colours and styles. You can choose from classic neutrals as well as popping colours. Our raincoats’ technical, breathable material prevents you sweating, ventilation features let you stay comfortable the whole day. Some of our raincoats are tailored with feminine silhouettes. However, everybody is welcome at BYBROWN and we have some unisex items for women and men.

How to Choose the Perfect Waterproof Technical Raincoat

Look for Breathable Fabric. Not all raincoat fabrics are breathable. Traditional raincoats are made using plastic or rubber. These provide zero ventilation. On the other hand, breathable fabrics allow moisture to escape. Thus, even after several hours, you still feel comfortable.

For mild drizzle, a basic plastic raincoat can work. However, for times when the rain is heavier, you need a better quality raincoat. In this case the raincoats made of technical material are an excellent choice. Technical raincoats that are breathable are measured in water columns. There is always a payoff between breathability and waterproofness but the higher the number the more waterproof the garment is.

Water Column Numbers:

  •  5,000 mm: light rain, moderate rain for 1-2 hours.
  • 10,000 mm: heavy showers, heavy rain for several hours.
  • 15,000 mm: storms, snow, full day of rain.
  • 20,000 mm+: extreme outdoor protection, expedition grade.

Care and Maintenance for Long-Term Performance

Here are some care tips for your raincoat:

  • In the unlikely case that your coat needs washing, you can wash it in a washing machine on a cycle of 30ºC for delicates.
  • Use fabric detergent designed for delicate material or waterproof materials.
  • Avoid fabric softeners that damage DWR coatings.
  • Wash regularly to remove dirt and oils.
  • Allow your coat to dry completely before storing it away.
  • The coats can be put in the tumble drier at a low temperature. This helps reactivate the waterproof coating (DWR).
  • When needed the DWR can be renewed with a PFA free, waterproof wash-in solution that restores water repellency.
  • If looked after properly our coats have a long-life cycle and need minimal washing.

Conclusion

Investing in quality waterproof raincoats for women ensures protection from rain for many years to come. But before you invest, understanding what you actually need is essential. For low to medium protection, look for budget options, although you might have to compromise on style. If you want both functionality and style and you sometimes experience heavy rain in your area, look for premium options with advanced, technical fabrics and details

Stylish women's raincoats by BYBROWN are not just functional, they look good too. The brand has introduced many options in different colours, styles and unique details. You can wear them for the whole day and still feel comfortable and dry. To get the best value on your investment, visit their website today and explore the range.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What's preferable - a lightweight raincoat that can pack easily or a heavy-duty option?

A lightweight raincoat is best if you travel often. It has a thinner fabric that is packable and can be carried in a handbag. Heavy-duty, thicker raincoats keep you dry even when it's raining heavily. Choosing a heavier fabric which is a technical, 3-D membraned fabric provides maximum protection in challenging weather, it is also perfect for frequent use and commuting.

Can a hooded raincoat fit properly over my bike helmet or big hair?

Yes, our hoods are extra big. They are quality hoods that have sufficient depth to accommodate your helmet and your hairstyle. Adjustable drawcords and a technical velcro strip let you customise the fit.

Can I wear a raincoat in cold weather, or do I need a separate winter coat?

BYBROWN raincoats work well in cold weather when properly layered over warm sweaters or jackets. However, they do not necessarily retain warmth. For seriously cold, wet conditions, choose our coat, Spirit, which has a detachable, insulated liner that will keep you warm to temperatures of -15ºC.

How often should I reapply waterproofing treatment to raincoat?

Reapply DWR treatment when water stops beading on the surface. If you wear your raincoat regularly, this probably means treating your coat only after you have washed it. Always wash the coat thoroughly before applying new treatment.

Are expensive raincoats really worth the price?

Budgeted options in raincoats can give protection in mild rain but you run the risk of sweating too much in these coats. They also have a shorter life span, and the design is often lacking. Premium raincoats, on the other hand, come with breathable membranes for complete comfort and have a much more considered design.

FAQ

No, the coat can be bought with the liner, (SPIRIT with SHAPER) but the shell/coat and the liner can also be bought separately from each other.

Yes, the coat can be cinched at the waist. You can leave the waist giving a more masculine boxy feel or you can cinch the elastic accentuating the waist to give a more feminine look.
The hood can also be adjusted with the technical velcro and the elastic cords to pull the hood in around your face for maximum protection.

Yes, the coat is waterproof. The SPIRIT LIGHT has a water column of plus 20,000mm and the SPIRIT has a water column of 10,000mm. A rating of up to 10,000mm water column is enough to handle average rain for urban use. Water resistance and breathability are two forces constantly at odds with one another. As a rule, to have 100 percent of either, you have to have zero percent of the other. We look for a balance between breathability and water resistance. The balance between getting wet on the inside from sweat, because your coat doesn't breath, and staying dry long enough for urban commutes. With a +20,000mm water column you are extremely well protected. With a 10,000mm water column our other coats will hold off the rain for a good few hours of normal rain and 45 minutes in a heavy downfall of rain, which is more than enough for urban use.

Fabrics, Technical Features, and Eco-Friendly Benefits in Women’s Sustainable Rainwear

Fabrics, Technical Features, and Eco-Friendly Benefits in Women’s Sustainable Rainwear

Our Changing World
In today’s world we can no longer ignore the needs of our planet, as difficult as it is, we have to address some of our consumption behaviour. The fashion industry also has to do this and very slowly it is beginning to change. BYBROWN is at the forefront of this change as these principles have always been in our DNA.

DWR and PFA’s or Forever Chemicals
One of the most important developments in sustainable rainwear is the phasing out of PFAS (Perfluoroalkyl and and polyfluoroalkyl substances) ; often called ‘forever chemicals.’
PFAs are chemicals that don't break down, leading to significant environmental contamination and health concerns.
Many brands are transitioning to shorter-chain PFA’s (C6) which are less damaging than the longer C10 chains, but ultimately the industry is stepping over to more natural, PFAS-free alternatives (C0 treatments).
While PFAS-free alternative DWR performs well and is often OEKO-TEX certified, its main trade-off is slightly lower oil/stain resistance and the need for occassional reactivation.
At BYBROWN, all new production uses a PFAS-free finish called Ruco Dry Eco Plus, also known as Bionic Finish Eco—a safer, more responsible choice for both people and planet.

Our Waterproof, Breathable Membrane
As well as DWR coatings, our coats also keep you warm and dry using a technical membrane. Our membrane has a water column above 20,000 mm meaning it can withstand extremely high water pressure—far more than everyday rain.
The water column indicates the level of water pressure that a fabric can withstand before water penetrates it with higher numbers meaning better waterproofing against water pressure.

To put this into perspective:

  • 5,000 mm: light rain
  • 10,000 mm: heavy showers
  • 15,000 mm: storms, snow
  • 20,000 mm+: extreme outdoor protection

This membrane is also breathable. Its hydrophilic (water-loving) molecular chains absorb moisture vapour from inside the coat and release it outward, preventing buildup of sweat and humidity. The result: you stay dry from the outside and the inside.

Recycling Polyester
Generally synthetics are used in rainwear because they are tough, performance materials that can endure in heavy weather conditions.
Traditionally the technical membranes, which give both waterproofness and breathability are made of polyurethane leading to a blended material that can’t be recycled. Our state of the art membrane is made of 100% polyester which means our materials are mono materials and therefore recyclable.

As a fossil product polyester/plastic suffers from the misuse of single-use plastics and the over consumption within our society.
However Polyester/plastic has many benefits when it comes to recycling.

Recycled polyester has a much higher up-cycling quality than other textiles, giving a strong fibre that can be recycled multiple times. Recycled polyester offers several benefits:

  • It can be recycled multiple times without major loss in performance.
  • It has a much stronger upcycling potential than most other fibres.
  • It reduces reliance on virgin petroleum.
  • It gives waste materials a new life.

We aim to run a supply chain that is fully circular, producing all our coats from recycled BYBROWN’s goal is clear: produce all coats from recycled polyester by 2030, completing a fully circular supply chain.

After Purchase Care:
Extending Longevity Sustainability has always been part of BYBROWN’s ethos, trying to make responsible decisions wherever possible;

  • in the material we use,
  • where we do our production,
  • where are products are sold,
  • as well as smaller details, such as the use of recycled labels in the coats and recycled packaging.

After sales care is also an important aspect, on average 20% of a garment’s environmental impact happens at the consumer use stage. Proper care is therefore essential. BYBROWN coats require minimal washing, we encourage spot cleaning.
When it is needed the coats can be machine washed on a delicates cycle at 30ºC.
The coats can be put in the tumble drier at a low temperature.
When needed the DWR can be renewed with a PFA free, waterproof wash-in treatment that restores water repellency.
With simple care, our coats maintain their performance for many years, allowing you to wear your favourite BYBROWN coat for longer.

Repair instead of Replace
Fashion cannot be truly sustainable without rethinking the way we consume.
We encourage our community to move away from a linear take-make-waste consumption style to one where garments are cared for, repaired, and cherished.
That’s why BYBROWN offers a repair service for all coats.

Crafted in Europe
All BYBROWN coats are made in Europe through long-standing partnerships in Portugal and Poland.
We believe in keeping our manufacturing in Europe as this ensures

  • higher transparency
  • responsible labour conditions
  • exceptional craftsmanship
  • reduced shipping distances

This approach is neither fast nor cheap, but it guarantees quality and integrity in every stitch.

Made With Love, Design, and Real Quality
When you choose a BYBROWN coat you treat yourself to something made with love, design, and true quality. A statement piece for yourself to protect you from the elements but at the same time treating the planet with more respect.
Our coats help you make that step towards circularity.
At BYBROWN, we believe in fair value, our pieces are priced honestly, crafted with care, and designed to last.
We stand for thoughtful consumption, slow fashion, and repairing rather than replacing. It’s simply how we choose to make clothing.

  • Style + Function: Elegant silhouettes meet high performance techwear with no compromises on style.

With BYBROWN, you can step outside knowing you’re ready for every storm, every commute, and every challenge the day throws at you.

Commute with Confidence

Rain shouldn’t control your day — and with BYBROWN it doesn’t.

Whether you drive, cycle, take public transport, or walk, we design rainwear that keeps you protected, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish.

Cycling – Agile, Spirit, Moxie & Nova

Cycling in the city can be unpredictable — especially in our hometown of Amsterdam. You need rainwear that gives you freedom to move, keeps you visible, and protects you from sudden showers. It has to be made of breathable materials to keep you comfortable so you arrive at your destination looking as fresh as when you left.

  • Moxie Rainskirt – This skirt transforms into trousers for total freedom of movement. Pair it with our new Nova Bomber Jacket for head-to-toe protection.
  • Agile Raindress – Flowing and unrestrictive, designed for full movement in an upright riding position. A reflective strip down the back keeps you visible, while the hood offers full side-view visibility for safer cycling.
  • Spirit – A statement piece this raincoat is lightweight, breathable, and perfect for commuters who want performance and style.

Public Transport – Wave & Spirit

Commuting by bus, tram, or train means navigating changing environments — cold wind one moment, a crowded, stuffy carriage the next.

Our technical fabrics are both waterproof and breathable, keeping you dry without overheating.

  • Spirit – Comes with a detachable warm layer for added versatility.
  • Wave – Lets you create your own layers underneath for year-round comfort.

When everyone’s staring at you on the metro, you won’t know if it’s because of your style — or because you’re the only one not dripping wet.

Walking – Wave, Stream & Spirit

Walking is the most mindful way to commute — if you’re wearing the right outerwear.

Moxie - for walking in style.

  • Wave & Spirit – Offer extra protection for autumn and winter, with Spirit’s longer length giving you even more protection. Spirit’s detachable liner also protects against the cold.
  • Stream – Lightweight, breathable, and perfect for summer walks.

These coats let you enjoy the journey, shielded from puddle-splashes and speeding bikes, so you can arrive calm and collected.

Car – Stream

When you’re in the car, comfort matters. You don’t want a coat that feels bulky or restrictive in a confined space.

That’s where Stream comes in — a lightweight, mid-length raincoat that moves with you. It’s stylish, easy to wear, and offers full waterproof protection for those moments when you do step out into the rain.

Rainwear Reimagined

At BYBROWN, we challenge the idea that rainwear is just functional. Our coats are designed to be part of your wardrobe — something you want to wear, rain or shine.

Because staying dry shouldn’t mean hiding who you are.

Our designs let you feel protected, stylish, and completely yourself.

So tell us — when it comes to your commute, what problem would we solve for you?
